AFFORDABLE HOUSING PREFERENCE FOR AT-RISK AND NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS
We are all seeing local fights for additional affordable housing intended to stabilize a neighborhood and allow existing residents to stay in the vibrant communities they have created. Instead, lotteries for affordable units often have people being sent hither-and-yon where ever they can get housing. While the history of today's system is grounded in efforts to ensure equity, today's effect is more complicated. This is an area of ongoing work for many of us.
